Plus Size Looks for Spring & Summer
Flatter your womanly figure with Spring's best trends, including A-line skirts, florals and layered tops. There's really nothing you can't wear, as long as you remember basic rules of proportion and focus more on what looks great on you, than simply what's trendy.

Plus-Size Shopping Tips

There are a few things female shoppers may want to keep in mind and look for when shopping for plus-size clothing:

  • Monochromatic colored outfits.
  • Darker bottoms and a brighter colored tops to draw attention to the face.
  • Tops with open necklines such as a scoop or v-neck for a more slimming effect.
  • Longer tops for a sleeker look.
  • Undergarments that fit properly and don’t cut the body.
  • Hemlines that stop above or below the widest part of arms, waist or hips
  • Get vertical! Vertical strips create the illusion of a thinner you.
  • To help elongate the neck, wear tops with an open neckline such as v-necks.
  • Stick with pants that have a slight flare at the bottom. The pencil thin pant leg emphasizes the butt.
  • Proportions are also important. An oversize handbag is a great accessory but a small handbag will make your figure appear larger.
  • Choose fabrics that don't cling, avoiding stiff or bulky textures.
  • Add small shoulder pads to sweaters and other knit tops to make them hang better.
  • Choose clean-lined clothing without big embellishment or buttons.
  • Wear clothes that are the right size. Saggy, baggy clothing looks a mess and tight clothes will wrinkle and hike up when you move.

To enable you to smile find something you love about yourself and flaunt it! Show those legs, unbutton that cleavage, get a good strapless bra, let down your hair and just focus on something that makes you feel great about yourself because in actuality no one other than you probably noticed that you put on a couple of pounds or so. And remember - Plus Size is now the normal. Skinny people are now unusual looking !
